About

Mayisha 2016 is a community-based survey of sexual attitudes and lifestyles among black African men and woman living in London.  African communities, particularly those from sub-Saharan Africa, are the second largest social group affected by HIV in the United Kingdom. As many as 1 in 20 black African men and women in London are thought to be living with HIV.

To make sure that people from African communities receive appropriate sexual health services London councils have funded a three-year London-wide HIV Prevention Programme (LHPP).  This survey will help find out how well the LHPP has worked and for whom. It will also help LHPP and other health service providers plan future prevention programmes.
